Game of Logging Levels 1 and 2

Farm & Wilderness Conservation is excited to announce that we will be hosting the Game of Logging Course provided by Northeast Woodland Training. During this two day training, Levels 1 and 2 of Game of Logging (GOL) will be offered and participants are asked to attend both. 

About the Course:

Game of Logging is an all day hands-on internationally recognized chainsaw training first developed by Soren Eriksson in the 1960s. Instructors from Northeast Woodland Training will be teaching the course at Farm & Wilderness. Level 1 involves learning the methods for safely felling trees as well as learning about PPE and saw safety. Level 2 covers saw maintenance and sharpening as well as working with tension and compression forces when felling trees. Participants must be at least 18 years old. Pre-registration and payment in advance are required. 

Dates & Times: 8am-5pm, April 18th and 19th, 2026

Location: Farm & Wilderness Foundation, 401 Farm & Wilderness Road, Plymouth, VT 05056 

Cost: $500 ($250 per level). Payment must be made in advance. 

Participants will need to bring their own of the following: 
-Lunch and water
-Safety helmet with a face shield 
-Hearing protection
-Eye protection
-Long pants 
-Sturdy leather/work/hiking boots
-Sturdy work gloves
-Appropriate clothing for the weather (we will be outside all day)
-Chain saw chaps (not required but instructor will only have 1 extra pair)
-Chain saw and saw toolkit (highly recommended but not required)
 

There is limited space available and participants are required to register and pay for the course in advance. Meals and lodging are not provided.
