Lake Ninevah Greeter Program Returning 6/2/20

Fantastic news! The Town of Mount Holly was once again given a small grant to support greeters and divers for Lake Ninevah this year. This grant along with funds raised by Ninevah Foundation will once again allow greeters to be staffed June-October at the Joseph Wiltshire Boat Access.

The turnaround from award notification, permitting, training, and logistics has been very expediated this year, two weeks instead of two months. But we are very grateful for all the hard work being put in by state employees such as Kim Jensen, from Lakes & Ponds, and Mike Wichrowski, from Fish & Wildlife, who have been working non-stop to get all Vermont greeter programs across the state everything they need to get started. And, of course, a BIG thank you to all that have donated and continue to give to the Ninevah Foundation in support of these efforts. We could not have matched the funding for this grant without generous backing from our community.

Returning this year as Lake Ninevah Greeters are Judson and Ron, you may recognize them if you’ve visited the public access in the past few years. You will generally see Judson Friday-Monday and Ron Tuesday-Thursday posted between the hours of 6AM-7PM.

As you can imagine, there are specific health and safety precautions the greeters are trained in taking this year due to the pandemic. Please help them keep safe by wearing masks and keeping a six-foot distance when interacting with them this summer. Greeters can no longer hand out educational materials to visitors this year and have received required health and safety training on COVID-19 prevention while carrying out the duties of a greeter.
