Community Hike & Tree Planting Day

Join Farm & Wilderness Conservation Sunday November 9th, 2025 from 1-3:30pm as we hike along the Plymouth Notch trail to the site of our current wetland restoration project. When we arrive at the site, we will be planting a variety of tree species to help restore the ecosystem after the removal of the Rockefeller Dam.

Total Mileage out and back: 2 miles

Trail Description: The hike to the wetland restoration site is moderately steep with no switch backs. Terrain is not difficult. Short but steady climb. When we get to the site we will be planting live stakes from willow, alder, and dogwood shrubs!

What to Bring: Come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear for hiking and planting trees. Please also bring plenty of water and snacks. Please wear bright colors to stand out during Vermont hunting season.

Parking: Logistics and parking information will be provided after registration.

This event is free and open all ages, children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Preregistration is required for all participants and each participant needs to register individually so we can accurately plan how many folks to expect. As per F&W policy, no dogs or pets please. We may encounter wildlife and it will be best for everyone involved if pets stay at home.
